Prof J Lawrenson was our keynote speaker and captured the interest of everyone present with his speech which high lighted how rife CHD is, the lack of resources and the need for parent support groups such as Heart Kids SA.

There were sombre moments, whilst honouring our fallen heroes and mentioning some of the struggles parents have with their warriors. 

It certainly is not an easy journey. We had a live band in attendance and were favoured with a musical medley which took us back to the 70’s and 80’s.

Our auction was a huge success. We were sponsored two Stormers Rugby jerseys, signed by the entire team, thanks to Seabelo Senatla. Seabelo also assisted our auctioneer in raking in substantial amounts for all the sponsored items.

We would also like to say a big thank you to two sets of CHD parents, the Baders and the Barnards who made the approx. 100km trip from Moorreesburg to attend the dinner as well as the Ludick/Scheffers family who made the approximately 135km trip from Ceres with a delegation of 11 people.

After all the peripherals and eating were out of the way, some fun was also had on the dance floor.
